Fifty miles, one walk at a time.
L. Frank Baum never says how long the road is. StoryTrek’s route measures it at 50 miles, with 10 waypoints drawn from the story. Every walk, run, or treadmill session your phone records carries you farther along it.
How long the journey takes
| You walk | You reach the end in |
|---|---|
| 1 mile a day (2 km) | about 7 weeks |
| 2 miles a day (3 km) | about 25 days |
| 3 miles a day (5 km) | about 17 days |
| 5 miles a day (8 km) | about 10 days |
A 10,000-step day is roughly 4 to 5 miles, which gets you to the end in about 12 days.

The story, mile by mile.
The road begins where the book does, on the gray Kansas prairie. From there it follows Dorothy through Oz, past the friends she gathers along the way, to the gates of the Emerald City.
Each waypoint pairs a restored illustration by W. W. Denslow, whose pictures defined Oz for generations of readers, with a moment from the story. Reach one, and the next stretch of road opens.
Walk it together
Start a company and share the journey with a friend, a book club, or a whole office. Everyone walks their own miles, wherever they live, while the group follows the same road to the Emerald City.
