IHow StoryTrek works

Take a story for a walk.

StoryTrek uses the distance already recorded in your health data. Walk wherever you like. The app does not need to stay open.

  1. Choose a StoryTrek

Browse journeys inspired by classic books. Filter by distance and choose the road that calls to you.

  2. Walk your own path

Head out wherever you like. Your phone or watch records the distance in Apple Health or Google Fit. StoryTrek only reads it, and it stays on your device unless you choose to sync.

  3. Return to the journey

Open StoryTrek or pull down to refresh. Your new distance moves you toward the next waypoint.

IVCommon questions

Before you set out.

Find answers to common questions about how StoryTrek works, tracks your progress, and uses your health data.

Do I have to walk a specific route?

No. Walk through your neighborhood, around a park, on a treadmill, or along a faraway trail. StoryTrek applies the distance in your health data to the literary journey you chose.

How does my progress update?

Open StoryTrek or pull down to refresh. The app reads the latest distance in your health data and applies it to your current journey.

Do I need to keep StoryTrek open while I walk?

No. Your distance continues to collect in your health data. StoryTrek reads it the next time you open or refresh the app.

Does StoryTrek see my health data?

StoryTrek reads only the distance already recorded in Apple Health or Google Fit. Never your location, route, or other health metrics. By default, that stays on your device. If you subscribe to sync across devices or walk in a shared company, StoryTrek sends your hourly distance totals to our servers. Nothing else, ever.

Is StoryTrek an audiobook or reading app?

No. Each StoryTrek is a route with waypoints and distances inspired by a book. The app tracks your progress along that route; it does not play or provide the book itself.

What if I stop before the journey is finished?

Your progress is saved. A short walk today and a longer one this weekend both carry you toward the same destination.

Can I walk with someone in another place?

Yes. Create a company and share a journey. Everyone walks wherever they are, at their own pace, while the group follows the same road together.

Is StoryTrek free?

Some journeys are free to travel. Beyond that, you can buy a single StoryTrek outright and keep it for good, or subscribe for access to every journey in the library, plus syncing across devices, shared company journeys, and journal backup for the memories, photos, and notes you save along the way.
