StoryTrek The terms for using StoryTrek.
These terms explain the rules that apply when you use the StoryTrek app, website, journeys, and related services.
Agreement to these terms
By downloading, accessing, or using StoryTrek, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use StoryTrek.
What StoryTrek provides
StoryTrek turns walking and running distance into progress along literary journeys. StoryTrek is a companion experience inspired by books; it is not an audiobook, ebook, navigation service, or fitness tracker, and it does not provide the underlying books.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use StoryTrek. Some features may be used without an account. Features such as syncing, journal backup, and shared company journeys require a StoryTrek+ account created with Apple or Google sign-in. You are responsible for keeping access to that sign-in account secure.
Health and safety
StoryTrek is intended to encourage ordinary walking and movement. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for professional care. Choose routes and activity levels that are safe for you, remain aware of your surroundings, obey local rules, and do not interact with the app when doing so would be unsafe.
Health data and privacy
StoryTrek reads walking or running distance that your device has already recorded. Our Privacy Policy explains what data is processed on your device, what subscribers may choose to sync, and how that information is handled.
Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to that store’s payment, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms. Prices and available features are shown before purchase. Deleting StoryTrek or deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active store subscription; subscriptions must be managed through the store where they were purchased.
Your journal and shared journeys
You keep ownership of the photos, notes, and other content you add to StoryTrek. You give us permission to store, process, and display that content only as needed to provide features you choose, including backup and syncing. When you join a company, the other members can see the profile and progress information described in our Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
You may not use StoryTrek to:
- Break the law, harm another person, or interfere with another person’s use of the service
- Attempt to access another user’s account or data without permission
- Disrupt, probe, reverse engineer, or bypass the security of StoryTrek or its services
- Upload malicious, unlawful, or rights-infringing content
- Misrepresent distance, progress, identity, or account ownership in a shared journey
StoryTrek content
StoryTrek, its design, software, branding, route descriptions, and original journey material belong to Manley Studios or its licensors. Your use of StoryTrek gives you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service; it does not transfer ownership of that material to you. Referenced books and their associated rights remain the property of their respective owners.
Availability and changes
We may improve, add, remove, or discontinue features and journeys over time. We work to keep StoryTrek available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, perfect distance readings, or the continued availability of every journey or third-party service.
Ending your use
You may stop using StoryTrek at any time. You can delete your account and synced journey data from the app or from our account deletion page. We may suspend or end access when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce these terms, or comply with law.
Disclaimers and responsibility
StoryTrek is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. Manley Studios is not responsible for unsafe route choices, device or health-platform errors, third-party services, or indirect losses resulting from your use of StoryTrek. Nothing in these terms limits rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as StoryTrek changes. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice through the app, website, or other appropriate means. Continuing to use StoryTrek after updated terms take effect means you accept them.
